I'm sure there are a lot of people who are wondering why after 20 years I finally decided to open my own store. One of the main reasons was that I felt I could not give personal attention to those who had been my customers/friends for so long. Likewise I felt there was a real need for a place where you know who is working on your bike. In the age where everyone is trying to be the largest store, I think doing the reverse and being the smallest yet offering personal customer service and the knowledge that your service work will be done professionally and accurately is the key.
