What will we do next?

[in stock] Shimano Sport Camera

Shimano Camera

[in stock] items are cool new items that we carry at the shop.

We just picked up the new Shimano Sport Camera.  After a few of us tested it we are IMPRESSED.  There are lots of cameras out there, but we really like these because they are made for us – cyclists. Because these cameras are made for cyclists, they have some features that make them better for using with bikes than other, more mainstream first person action cameras.

Check out Shimano’s Fancy presentation webpage

Top Features you should care about as a cyclist

  • Built in wifi (compare to GoPro Black edition @ $399)
  • iPhone & Android apps
  • Waterproof camera (no ‘case’ like GoPros)

Winston-Salem, NC – Winston Salem’s Hobby Park will host the Southern Classic Series Cross Country Mountain Bike races on Sunday, August 3. All ability levels are welcome to compete for prizes provided by local bike shops.

The Hobby Park race will consist of 1 lap for beginning racers and 3 laps for advanced and pro racers. One lap consists of 7 miles of single track trails through the woods on the property at Hobby Park. The trail has some advanced features, but novice cyclists can bypass these features.

The event will base out of the remote control air landing strip at Hobby Park and all the local sponsoring bike shops will be in attendance. In addition to the Southern Classic Series races, there will be kid’s fun races from ages 5-10.

  • Fun Kid races

“This race is a great event for the Winston Salem mountain biking community,” says Mike Cobler, owner of Cycletherapy Bikes in Lewisville. “This event was designed to be more than a typical Southern Classic race. We wanted it to be a place for families to come out and find out what mountain bike racing is all about.  We’ll have first time racers and pro riders alike.  We’ll even have fun races for kids out in the grassy area. A lot of the area bike shops will be in attendance so you can ask questions and look at bikes on display,” says Cobler.

Sponsoring local bike shops include:

Cycletherapy Bikes

Clemmons Bike Shop

Ken’s Bike Shop

Mock Orange Bikes

Paul Cycling & Fitness
